Luqman’s PhD

After Luqman won his right to remain, he was also given the chance to work towards a PhD at Brighton Uni. He’ll will be revolutionising the way that the European academy thinks about being and thinking by focusing on the self and knowledge in the Yoruba tradition.
PhD’s cost £4407 a year. Luqman has the money to support himself for the year, but he doesn’t have funding for the PhD’s. Because he doesn’t yet have Indefinite Leave to remain, he can’t get help through student finance.
The Sussex Refugee and Migrant Self Support Group want Luqman to fulfil his dream. If he does, we know that he will wake up the European academy. We can’t wait for that to happen. Luqman has brought so much to our lives. He helps us struggle and keeps us going.
Now we want to help him develop his ideas, help bring overlooked ways of being and thinking from the edge to the centre and help him lead the charge to decolonise the academy.
